To support the Automotive industry facing the Software Quality Challenges, VDA QMC China has established the Software Quality Advisory Board China (here after referred to as SWQ AB China), and members of SWQ AB China are experienced Software Quality Experts. The SWQ AB China work on Software Quality related topics and will share with Automotive industry in China new development on Software Quality and understanding on this webpage.
Automotive SPICE® (here after referred to as ASPICE) is an initiative of the Automotive Special Interest Group and the Quality Management Center in the German Association of Automotive Industry (VDA QMC). ASPICE has been widely used and requested in China, several questions and doubts are addressed to VDA QMC China, and has been passed on to SWQ AB China. Therefore, SWQ AB China would like to explain and share on some basic understanding of ASPICE:
ASPICE formal Assessment shall only be performed by intacs certified ASPICE assessors, and only led by Competent or Principal assessor, and VDA QMC logo is not authorized to be used on Assessment result.
As a project-oriented assessment model, the assessment report ONLY reveals the conformance and capability level of the applied processes in the assessed project against ASPICE requirements. So far, VDA QMC has NO Certification Concept for ASPICE result.
ASPICE is not only a process assessment model, but also a process reference model to guide organizations for establishing own process landscape on the same basis. Therefore, we strongly suggest organizations to build up own competences by developing own assessors. It is sponsor‘s responsibility to decide which party (internal or external) of assessors to be selected with consideration of assessment purpose and objectives. Meanwhile, from the complete supply chain point of view, it is also the organization’s own responsibility for the acceptance criteria (e.g.: assessed project, process scope, assessors) of ASPICE assessment result from suppliers.
